When planning an event, it is all too easy to ignore the food and just go for the usual rounds of sandwich selection, something cold and brown, like sausage rolls, and sad-looking salad with a selection of sliced meats. But, why choose something plain when you have the opportunity to work with exceptionally talented caterers in London?
The first thing you need to know is number that you are catering for. It doesn’t have to be accurate, but it does need to be Ball Park. When booking a caterer we can’t estimate to cater for ten then find that you have 100. Your event will be remembered for being undersupplied with food! Food allergies and intolerance are common so it is a really good idea that while asking people if they are attending for numbers, you can also ask about special dietary needs.
Secondly, do try and go for quality. Depending upon the scale of the event, you should always work with a professional caterer with experience of catering for quality events. Try thinking outside the box when considering the actual food you go for. Ditch the cocktail sausages for pitted olives in chilli oil, or similar. Less congealed pizza slices, more Apple slices with Hummus.
Select a theme and try to stick with it. It could be Caribbean, it could be Australian Barbecue, but whatever it is, you are bound to find lots of easy to produce snacks and treats that will delight your menu. There are plenty of websites that can show you simple to produce fare, or look it up on a video site such as YouTube so you can be prepared, or just ask us at Greenleaf Catering for advice on the different tastes and food types, we have great experience in the catering field and can offer a range of ideas.
Don’t get caught with a bitter taste at your event – plan it properly and enjoy the glow of satisfaction with Greenleaf Catering!
